Leo Koziol is of Ngati Kahungunu, Ngati Rakaipaaka and Polish descent, and hails from the bustling metropolis of Nuhaka. Currently employed at Te Puni Kokiri as a Te Kaiwhakarite, Leo Koziol is also the founder and director of the Wairoa Maori Film Festival, an annual indigenous film festival which first occured in 2005 (www.manawairoa.com).
